Highlights

Highlights is the panel beside the thread that collects what the thread has made and shared, so you can find it without scrolling back through the conversation. It fills in by itself as the agent works. Its icon is the pin at the top of the right-hand edge, which gets a dot while the last reply has things for you to do.

From the top, and only when there's something to show:

  • A line or two from the librarian on where the thread is up to.
  • Needs you: what the agent's last reply asked you to do, each with a box to tick off as you go. Ticking one here ticks it in the thread too.
  • The links of the thread's projects, such as a live site or an admin page.
  • Scheduled: messages booked to come to this thread. Click one to change it.
  • Sub-agents: helpers the agent started, with how each is getting on. Click one to read what it did.
  • Pinned: what the agent pinned for you (below).
  • Files: documents, pages, pictures and videos the thread wrote, opened or mentioned.
  • Links: web pages and pull requests it opened or mentioned.
  • Changes: its commits, and a line such as "4 files edited" that opens to the code it changed.

Click a file and it opens in the panel, with Back to return to the list (a text file there has Edit too). A link opens in your browser, unless you change Default in its right-click menu to open pages in the panel. An edited code file opens in its own app. Right-click any of them for more, such as Reveal in Finder, or Remove to take it off the list. You can drag files out of Highlights into other apps.

Pins

An agent can pin a file or link to Highlights, under Pinned, with its pin tool and a short note on why you should look at it: a mockup it made for you to check, a preview address, a pull request. It can also open the pin straight away, in the panel beside the thread. Files it writes and links it mentions show up by themselves, so pins are for the few things that matter most. To have something pinned, ask the thread ("pin the mockup for me").
