The tour and Finish setting up

The first time the app opens it shows you round the window, one part at a time, with a few made-up sample threads to try things on: you hibernate one, archive another, move a panel, and press an example patch's button, Roll a die (it lives in ~/ThreadbearThreads/Welcome). Then it opens your first thread with the message written for you, asking the agent for a patch with a hello button of your own, and you send it. The samples are deleted when the tour ends. Help > Take the Tour runs it again, and that time you can skip it. A Mac that joined a Threadbear you already use (setup's --existing) skips it.

While that first thread works, Finish setting up shows what's left after setup:

  • Start your first thread, which shows your Claude Code or Codex login works. If there's no login on the Mac yet, it says how to add one.
  • Pair your iPhone, so you can ask questions and steer your threads while you're out (see Your phone and a browser).
  • Open your website, to check on your threads from any browser.

Each item ticks itself off once it's done, and the list's icon on the left-hand rail goes once they all have. Hide this list puts it away, and Help > Finish Setting Up brings it back. The phone and website items only show when your Threadbear has a Convex deployment for them to use.
