Privacy
The short version: I don't collect anything about you. Your threads stay on your Mac and in a Convex deployment that's yours.
This website
threadbear.mikecann.app doesn't use cookies, analytics or ads. It's hosted on Cloudflare, which sees your internet address like any web host does and keeps its request logs for a few days so I can spot problems.
The Mac app
Threadbear runs on your Mac. It starts the official Claude Code and Codex command line tools, logged in as you, so what you send an agent goes to Anthropic or OpenAI under your own account and their own privacy policies. Threadbear never reads or copies your login.
Full transcripts, tool output and images stay on your Mac. Each thread's title and status, its newest messages, and anything waiting on you go up to your own Convex deployment, so your phone and browser can show them. None of it comes to me.
The iPhone app and thread links
The iPhone app and the browser links read the same Convex deployment, using a sign in code that only you can make from your Mac. You can cancel one at any time and that phone or browser stops working straight away.
The iPhone app only ever talks to the deployment you pair it with. The sign in code is kept in the phone's Keychain and the deployment's address in the app's settings, and nothing else about you is kept or sent anywhere. There's no account with me, no analytics, no ads and no tracking, and I don't collect anything from the app.
If you turn on notifications, Apple gives the phone a notification token, and the app saves it in your deployment so it can tell you when a thread needs you. The notifications go from your deployment through Apple's push service, and turning them off in the iPhone's Settings stops them.
The camera is only used to scan the pairing code, and the picture never leaves the phone. The microphone is only used after you tap it to dictate a reply. Apple's speech recognition turns it into text, on the phone where it can, otherwise through Apple's servers under Apple's privacy policy.
The sample threads you can look around in before pairing are made up, and they stay on the phone.
